My father had brain surgery for Melanoma Skin Cancer. The doctors recommended full brain radiation even though the Cancer was removed with surgery. They wanted to do a follow up after treatment plan to kill any possible remnants or traces of Cancer.

They are now going to set things up so the a oncology patient for example gets seen, start a treatment plan, and receive radiation all in the same day. Same day healthcare is the future.

Using concurrent PET/CT may improve the accuracy of imaging for radiation therapy treatment planning by decreasing errors caused by organ motion. For the study, the researchers analyzed the results of ten patients with cervical cancer who had radiation treatment planned using both a CT taken before PET and a CT taken during the same PET session.
